DASSSA Donates Football Kits to Orion Academy.

The Dominica Secondary Schools Supporters Association (DASSSA), is delighted to announce the sponsorship and donation of new football kits to the Orion Academy’s boys and girls football teams.
The donation is part of DASSSA's longstanding and continuing efforts to support Dominica's secondary schools and students.
Whilst we were unable to contribute to the financial cost of rebuilding part of the school after Hurricane Maria as per their request, we were determined to help in any other way possible. Thus, when Orion's Principle, Ms Medisetti suggested that we consider the procurement and supply of football kits, we were immediately responsive to the idea, recognising the positive potential impact that “looking and feeling good” could have on their teams and the School in general after the devastating experience of Hurricane Maria.
The donation consisted of 17 Boys and Girls full kits including Tops, shorts & socks as well as Goalkeeper kits. Inspired Sports Solution the Agents providing the kits personally donated 5 brand new footballs and 15 multi-coloured training bibs and two trainers kits. Generous supporters of DASSSA donated and bought directly from an Amazon list, water 20 bottles with carrier, 30 drawstring bags for the kids, football carrier, football pump, two captains arm-band.
While this show of support is a DASSSA undertaking, special mention must be made of the following joint contributors, namely: Jules Jack who made a significant financial contribution to the purchase of the kits; Richard Steadman of Inspired Sports Solutions who as agents of the manufacturers Acerbis UK, sourced the actual purchase on our behalf; Sunset Shipping who arranged the despatch of the kits to Dominica on discounted terms; Hon. Petter Saint-Jean of the Ministry of Education for facilitating and supporting our efforts, and last but by no means least, the Dominica High Commission in London whose ongoing support has been invaluable in enabling us to continue with our fundraising activities to assist our youth in Dominica.
This was truly a combined effort and one that we as an Association we are very proud to have been a part of.
We wish the students, their coaches and the school all the very best in their new kits and hope that it not only inspires them to sporting success, but success in all their endeavours as they strive to help build a stronger, more resilient Dominica.
